Bakaliko is a restaurant in Detroit, Michigan. It is listed at 527 Monroe St, Detroit, MI 48226, which places it among the local businesses of Detroit that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under coffee shop, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Detroit will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in Michigan usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 4 pm–12 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (313) 405-3844. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is bakalikondetroit.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 30 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded restaurants in Detroit.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

10/10- great place to stop for a bite and a drink! Espresso martini was delicious and the saganaki and the baklava cheesecake were even better. Lisa was excellent and we will definitely be back.

Delicious Greek coffee and pastries! Lovely staff and atmosphere, I didn't catch her name but she was very friendly and nice to talk to. I didn't get pictures of what I ordered, mizithra pastry and mini baklava, but I did snag a couple of the display.

My friend who is a Detroit native recommended this place during my first visit to the area. Service was unacceptably slow for them to include a mandatory 20% gratuity onto the bill for the two of us. To make matters worse, the food was TERRIBLE. I’ve had better food at a Diner in the middle of the night than here. Skewers were dry and overcooked and they served the tomato raw!! Pita was old and feta cheese was smelly. $120 before tip for two men for Greek food is too much anywhere, but it’s even more slap in the face when it’s awful food with slow service. Would not recommend and will not return.

I really wanted to enjoy my visit here, but the service was incredibly disappointing. After being seated, it took 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. When the coffee finally arrived, the taste was super cheap. The lady making the coffee clearly had no clue of what she was doing.

We hosted my bridal shower at Bakaliko this past June, and I could not have asked for a better experience. The space is small but beautifully furnished, classy, cozy, and was perfect for our Ted Lasso "Biscuits with the Boss" coffee themed celebration with about 28 guests. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Leisa, our waitress, was incredibly attentive, warm, and full of personality. She truly made the day special. The Greek food was beautifully displayed and absolutely delicious: so much so that several guests placed to-go orders just to take more home! Whether you are stopping in for a quick bite, a signature cocktail, or a specialty coffee, Bakaliko is a gem. And if you are planning an intimate event, I wholeheartedly recommend it. They helped make my bridal shower unforgettable.
